Fall on Nantucket is the Best

September skies have been blue and crystal clear as fall approaches with strong breezes from the northeast these past couple of days. This pic was taken on a peaceful day last week looking back from Monomoy beach. That same spot today is whitecaps and spray as the wind has continued unabated for 3 days. High surf has been churning up the south shore and many folks have been beach combing and taking in the natural beauty of the shoreline. The off shore wind sends huge plumes of spray back over the waves which are glassy and clean. Shorebirds struggle against the wind as we lay on our blanket, and the terns endlessly poke the wet sand in search of a meal. Another September day on the island, come see us for a few more weeks. We’ll look for you at Miacomet.
